To support Hawaii's efforts to reduce and prevent substance abuse, the Coalition for a Drug-Free Hawaii offers an array of services which include training, presentations, technical assistance and consultations to agencies, schools, businesses, and community groups. Some of these services include:
Strengthening Hawai`i Families Training of Facilitators
A two-day Training of Facilitators to implement the Strengthening Hawai`i Families (SHF) Program. SHF is a national best practice program designed to reduce risk factors associated with substance abuse and enhance protective factors associated with resilient families. SHF brings family members together to emphasize values, define relationships, and develop communication skills to help families discover for themselves what works best for them. The SHF Training includes all training materials and SHF Training Manual; SHF Facilitator Certification; and three hours of technical assistance to each team of SHF facilitators completing the training.
Drug-Free Workplace Training
A 1-3 hour interactive presentation in compliance with DOT, Coast Guard, FAA, FMCSA, Federal and company-sponsored Substance Abuse Policy and Regulations. Both employers and employees will benefit by learning signs and symptoms of substance abuse in the workplace, and tips for handling a potential or current substance abuse problem. The presentation can be tailored to the specific requirement of your regulatory agency.
Ice Awareness Presentation
A 30-60 minute presentation on the detrimental effects (both national and local) of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) on individuals, families, communities and the environment. Also covers details on recognizing the signs, symptoms and process of an Ice addiction, as well as prevention strategies that can be used to help individuals, families, and communities combat ice use. This presentation is great for anyone who wants to educate others on the prevention of Ice use, as well as taking steps to get help.
